5 Ways To Be Productive While Working From Home
March 26, 2020
Many of us are spending a lot more time at home right now. When we’d usually be arriving at our desks, we’re finding ourselves sitting on our couches or at the kitchen tables, trying to complete our daily work tasks, without the built-in discipline of the office structure. The items you must complete are the same, however the environment is not. There are a few simple ways to help you become productive, and stay productive, while working from home.
- Make Your Bed
This may seem inconsequential, or a small easy task. But making your bed first thing in the morning sets a sense of accomplishment for the day and is one less thing to worry about as you go about your day.
- Declutter
Before you start working, decide on your workspace, or spaces you will be in and out of frequently, and declutter them. Once you declutter your working space you will feel ready to work and find it easier than before.
- Sit Near Natural Light
You will feel more engaged while working if you are sitting near natural lighting, rather than fluorescent lighting. Natural light gives you Vitamin D which is essential to keep you healthy and boosts serotonin levels.
- Home Office Ambiance
One of the great perks of working from home is being able to create a personalized work area in a way you may not be able to at your office. You can make this environment cozy yet productive and tailor it to suit your individual needs. Adding calming elements like fresh flowers, house plants, or candles can help you feel energized and ready to tackle the day.
5. Stay Active
Its important to take a break for yourself and get outside if you are able and take a walk, or walk up and down your stairs. Finding a time to do a small workout, or even small walk, will help keep your energy levels up. Find a large enough space in your home, and do some stretches!
